The Surgery Center of Anchorage is a new out-patient surgical facility where surgeries that do not require hospital admission are performed.  Outpatient surgical facilities (a.k.a., “Ambulatory Surgery Centers” (ASC)) have become the preferred alternative when hospital admission is not required for a surgical procedure.  ASCs provide a cost-effective and convenient environment that is less stressful than what many hospitals offer.  Patients that elect to have surgery in an ASC arrive on the day of the procedure, have the surgery in a fully equipped operating room, and recover under the care of nursing staff – all without hospital admission.
